Wolio.link ("Wolio", "we", "us") provides a link-tracking service that lets you create tracked links that redirect to your destination URL. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

A) Account information

When you create an account or log in, we collect:

  • Email address (used for authentication and account management)

We use a "magic link" login flow. Login tokens are short-lived and single-use.

B) Link and dashboard data

When you create tracked links, we store:

  • Link label (e.g., "Shopify PM")
  • Destination URL (where the link redirects)
  • Slug/handle (if applicable)
  • Timestamps (created/updated)

C) Tracking event data (when someone clicks your tracked link)

When someone clicks a Wolio.link tracked link, we record limited analytics, such as:

  • Timestamp of the click
  • User agent (browser/device string)
  • Referrer (sometimes available; often blank for email/ATS)
  • Prefetch/scanner indicators (e.g., "prefetch" headers)
  • Bot signals (basic user-agent heuristics)
  • An anonymized IP-derived identifier (we hash the IP address using a salt so we do not store the raw IP address)

We do not attempt to identify individuals or companies from this data.

3) What we do NOT collect

  • We do not install scripts on your portfolio site.
  • We do not collect passwords (magic-link login).
  • We do not collect sensitive personal information (e.g., government IDs, financial data).
  • We do not knowingly collect personal information about children.

4) How we use information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and operate the service (create links, track clicks, show dashboard stats)
  • Secure the platform (fraud prevention, rate limiting, abuse monitoring)
  • Communicate with you (login emails, service notices)
  • Improve the product (debugging, performance, feature improvements)
  • Send product updates and marketing communications about Wolio.link and our other products (you can opt out at any time)

9) Link scanners and "false views"

Some email providers and applicant tracking systems (ATS) automatically scan or prefetch links for security. This can generate a click event even if a recruiter did not manually open the link. Wolio may label some events as "possible scanner/prefetch" based on headers and user-agent signals.

10) Data retention

We retain information as needed to provide the service and operate securely.

  • Account and link data: retained until you delete it or request deletion.
  • Tracking event data (click analytics): retained for a limited period. Retention may vary by plan (for example, 30 days on free plans and longer on paid plans).

We may retain certain records longer where required for legal, security, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution purposes.

11) Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including:

  • Short-lived, single-use login tokens
  • Secure session cookies (httpOnly; secure in production)
  • Rate limiting and abuse prevention
  • Avoiding storage of raw IP addresses (we store hashed identifiers)

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

12) Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you
